PHILADELPHIA, OCT 30, 2014 -- An exceptional presentation of over 1100 lots of Victorian furniture, architectural antiques, and a large collection of clocks and lighting characterized Kamelot’s two day auction on October 16th and October 18th .The combination of these collections came together to create an exciting auction that was held to more than 3300 enthusiastic bidders. The lots were offered without reserves and strong prices were achieved in both sessions.

Lighting and lighting elements comprised a large portion of the sale, to include a large collection from a prominent New York City lighting company. Lot 716 was a monumental two-tier nickel over bronze Art Deco chandelier with original glass inserts circa 1930. Measuring over nine feet tall and five feet across, the goliath hammered at $17,000, far surpassing its pre-sale estimate of $8,000-$12,000. Also noteworthy was lot 643, a pair of bronze figural torchieres represented by native king and queen figures. Estimated at $2,000-$3,000, the pair brought a hammer price of $9,600. Yet another to exceed its pre-sale estimate was lot 185, an early twentieth century French beaded glass and silvered bronze six-light chandelier which was estimated at $200-$300 and sold for $5,000.
